TruckFilings is a small, owner-run website about state insurance filings. It takes quote requests from carriers but is not an insurer, not an agency, not a state office and not a filing service.
Requests go to licensed agents and partners able to place coverage with a state filing. The insurer, not this site, decides on coverage and makes the filing itself.
Each state writes its own rules and revises them. The explanations here describe common practice; the agency that issues your permit has the final word.
Why focus on state filings
Most trucking insurance information focuses on federal authority. Intrastate carriers, tow operators, local movers and dump haulers often deal only with a state agency, and the forms they encounter are rarely explained. A missing or cancelled state filing can stop a business as surely as a federal one.
Not on this site
There are no premium averages, no insurer rankings and no promises about how fast a state will accept a filing, because those depend on the insurer, the agency and your operation.
Who the site is for
Owners of local trucking, moving, towing and hauling businesses who need a filing for the first time, need to add a state, or are replacing a filing after a cancellation notice. If a state agency has told you it needs proof of insurance on file, start with the overview page.
